If your kids are like mine, they want to scoop up ALL the seashells from the beach and take them home. They look for the biggest, shiniest shells and without hesitation, throw them into the bucket. Last year I didn’t want to come home with a big ol’ bucket of shells so I offered up a challenge; find a shell to represent each letter of the alphabet. Ah, purpose to our collecting. Purpose to their time on the beach (because let’s face it, their purpose is far different from mine, lol!). It took us the entire long weekend to find all of the letters, and the most difficult letters were still being searched for an hour before it was time to head home. But the project was a success and results are frame-worthy <3
