Two years ago I built a playhouse. It was nice, but it was, eh. It took me a long time of watching it in the backyard to figure out exactly what I wanted it to be. While antique shopping I came across a building they had made out of old windows and I fell head over heels. Within a few weeks I collected enough old windows to being (thanks to a dear friend on the lookout for me!). I started by taking off the roof, all the siding, and most of the framing. I kept every single 2×4 and reused everything I could. I really needed it to be a no-cost renovation, and I think I kept it under $30 🙂
Again I say it, you cannot be afraid or you will never start. This is a playhouse so I was far from afraid of making a mistake. The worst case scenario was we would have a load of high quality fire wood. The best case scenario was this…
